Bourbon Offshore has appointed Gaël Bodénès as its new chief executive officer.

Bodénès will replace Christian Lefèvre, who will leave his position on 1 October to join Jaccar Holdings.

The board of directors of Bourbon paid tribute to Lefèvre's critical contribution over the past 30 years. Thanks to his foresight regarding market trends and innovation in ship design, he implemented a high-growth strategy, unique in our industry, that turned Bourbon into a global leader in offshore oil and gas marine services, the company said. He will remain a board member and continue to bring his experience to Bourbon.

The board also named Astrid de Bréon as its chief financial officer.
