ROV services firm M² Subsea has unveiled its recently commissioned purpose-built test tank at the company’s base in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, UK.
The indoor fresh water tank, which can hold 73,600 liters of water, has been created for testing ROVs and ancillary equipment, both the firm's own fleet as well as others'. The 8 x 4 x 2.3m tank, which can accomodate work-class and observation ROVs, has already been successfully used by Acteon Group for product testing.
The tank has a 15-tonne capacity gantry crane and an independent 415v, three-phase, 200a power supply to accommodate testing equipment.
M² Subsea was founded late 2016, supported with private equity funding.
The firm then bought a fleet of 27 ROVs from the administrators of failed subsea services firm Harkand.
The firm is being led by Mike Arnold, the founder of Rovtech, in 1986, as well as Hallin Marine UK and Bibby Offshore’s ROV services unit.
