Helix inks intervention riser system contract

Helix Energy Solutions Group has been awarded its first contract for a new 15,000psi intervention riser system (IRS).

The 35-day award is with a large oil and gas operator in the US Gulf of Mexico. The 15,000psi IRS is part of a joint engineering and manufacturing collaboration between Helix and Schlumberger under their Subsea Services Alliance.

The 15,000psi enables access to both vertical and horizontal subesa trees in up to 10,000ft water depth. THe system gas a 6 3/8in thru bore diameter as well as a 2 1/6in annular return line.
