Elliot Kinch, business development manager for Interwell UK, has been appointed as the new chair of the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association's European chapter (ICoTA). Kinch, who takes up his appointment March 2016, has served on the organization’s committee for two years.

With over 22 years of oil and gas industry experience, Kinch has vast offshore experience in well intervention, completions and intelligent completions operations, with knowledge and understanding in the subsea sector.

“Having been involved with ICoTA for a number of years, I strongly believe that it’s a very valuable forum for sharing knowledge which should benefit everyone who works in our industry,” said Kinch. “To support this I will be encouraging greater cooperation and collaboration between operators and service companies, and similar not-for-profit oil and gas member funded organizations. Due to the current operating climate, our focus will be in identifying opportunities to produce, in a cost-sensitive environment, through innovation while ensuring that safety is not compromised.”

ICoTA runs a series of events and activities throughout the year featuring case histories and emerging technologies with a particular focus on saving time and cost whilst still maintaining well assurance.
