Malcolm Webb (pictured), chief executive of pan-industry trade association Oil & Gas UK, has accepted the role of chairman for next year’s SPE Offshore Europe conference in Aberdeen.

Webb, who became the organisation’s CEO in 2004 when it was known as UKOOA, said: ‘Challenges drive innovation. The offshore oil & gas industry has a deserved international reputation for excellence in engineering, manufacturing and technology allowing it to operate successfully in the mature basin of the UKCS and to export its expertise. This industry’s story is an inspiring one that needs to be shared with the next generation so that we can continue to have an industry that is dynamic, diverse and dedicated to maintaining a long-term sustainable future.’
