Mexican state oil company Pemex awarded Houston-based marine contractors Cal Dive International, Inc an EPIC contract worth US$63 million concerning the company's Abkatun-Pol-Chuc Field in the Bay of Campeche.

The contract's scope includes the engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 12km-long, eight-inch subsea pipeline and associated tie-ins on four existing platforms.

Cal Dive expects to use three of its vessels to complete the contract, with offshore construction expected to begin 3Q 2013.

Last year, Pemex awarded Cal Dive a similar contract, worth approximately $46 million, for the installation of a 20-inch subsea pipeline at the Abkatun-Pol-Chuc field in 73m of water.
