Marin Teknikk designs DSCV for Kreuz

Marin Teknikk AS has entered into a contract with China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., for the design & engineering delivery of a large diving & construction vessel (DCSV) to Kreuz Subsea Marine Pte Ltd. in Singapore. The vessel will be a MT6024 DSCV design with an 18-man, double diving-bell, saturation system for operations down to 300m.

MT6024 DSCV is an advanced design of 120m length, 25m breadth, 130-person accommodation, and a 140t offshore crane, in addition to arrangements for two ROVs for operations down to 3000m depth.

In close cooperation with the customer, Marin Teknikk has designed a functional vessel with a focus on safety that follows the new generation of environment-friendly, modern, and advanced multifunctional offshore construction vessels. The design emphasizes reduced fuel consumption with the latest diesel-electric technology, featuring reduced exhaust emissions, and has large cargo capacity, both on deck (1300sq m) and below deck.

The vessel is to be built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. in China, according to Det Norske Veritas class with the new SPS code, COMF-V(3) and Clean Class. The contract includes an option for one vessel of the same type, and the DSCV will be ready for delivery 2Q 2015.
