AMEC wins N. Sea extension

AMEC was awarded a two-year contract extension from BG Group to continue to provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management support for all of BG Group’s facilities in the central North Sea.

The contract is valued at about US $170 million and is scheduled to run through to December 2015. The extension follows on from the original three-year contract award in 2011. 

Under the original contract AMEC completed severalprojects including two subsea tie backs from the Gaupe, North West Seymour wells, a subsequent major topside modification of the Armada platform, topside modifications on the North Everest platform, and a subsea tie back as part of the Everest East expansion. 

AMEC has having achieved 7 million man hours without a Lost Time Incident (LTI) since the project began. The company supplies consultancy, engineering and project management services to the oil and gas, mining, clean energy, environment and infrastructure markets.
