CNOOC begins Panyu 10-2/5/8 production

CNOOC Ltd. commenced production at its Panyu 10-2/5/8 project in the Pearl River Mouth Basin in the South China Sea, the company announced on 31 July 2014.

This project includes three oilfields – the Panyu 10-2, Panyu 10-5 and Panyu 10-8 – with an average water depth of 100m. It was designed to share some facilities of Panyu 4-2 oilfield.

The newly-built production facilities include one wellhead platform and nine producing wells. CNOOC says there are four wells connected, which are producing approximately 9000b/d. The project expects to reach peak production of 13,000b/d by 2015.

CNOOC holds 100% interest in the Panyu 10-2/5/8 project.

Earlier this week, CNOOC and partners Primeline Energy China Ltd. and Primeline Petroleum Corp. commenced production on the Lishui 36-1 gas field, which is located 150km off Wenzhou city in the East China Sea.
