Encana shuts in Deep Panuke

Published

Encana Corp. shut in production from its Deep Panuke platform. The offshore Nova Scotia facility produces and processes natural gas from the Deep Panuke field, found nearly 155 miles southeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the Scotian Shelf. The produced gas is is processed offshore and transported, via subsea pipeline, to Goldboro, Nova Scotia, and then into the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline.

According to industry sources, the platform’s production was halted due to excess of water in the gas reservoir, but production is expected to resume in 4Q 2015 when gas demand ramps up.
