Adarash Kumar appointed CEO of EMAS Offshore

Ezra Holdings Ltd. announced the stepping down of Capt. Adarash Kumar from the board of Ezra as an executive director, as well as the cessation of his position as chief operating officer (CEO) effective 25 September 2015. Kumar will take up the role of CEO at EMAS Offshore Ltd., replacing Jon Dunstan, the current CEO of EMAS Offshore, also effective on 25 September 2015.

“[Kumar] has more than 25 years of experience in the offshore industry,” said Koh Poh Tiong, chairman of the Ezra board. As [Ezra] grapples with the current challenges facing the offshore oil and gas industry, this will be crucial for our subsidiary company, EMAS Offshore Ltd., as they focus on implementing their twin strategy of maintaining leadership in Asia and penetrating the new market of West Africa.”

Kumar, 55, has more than 25 years of experience in the marine industry. Before joining Ezra Holdings, he was an assistant general manager of Bumi Armada Navigation Sdn Bhd, an offshore support services provider based in Malaysia, and was responsible for its operations. He also held various positions onboard vessels while working for the Malaysian International Shipping Corp. Kumar is a qualified master mariner and holds a certificate of competency as master of a foreign going ship issued by the Malaysian Marine Department.
