Lundin Norway commenced drilling of exploration well 7220/6-2 in PL609, offshore Norway.

The planned total depth is approximately 1350m below mean sea level and the well is being drilled using the drilling rig Island Innovator. Drilling is expected to take approximately 40 days.

The Neiden prospect is located in the northern part of PL609, some 60km northeast of the Alta discovery and approximately 200km from the Norwegian coastline. Lundin Petroleum estimates the Neiden prospect to have the potential to contain unrisked, gross prospective resources of 204MMboe.

Lundin Norway holds 40% working interest in PL609. Partners DEA Norge and Idemitsu Petroleum Norge hold 30% working interest each.
