The UWGP includes compact reverse osmosis (RO) and membrane deaeration (MDA) coupled with a demineralization process using continuous electrodeionization (CEDI).

The Appomattox project includes the construction and installation of Shell’s eighth and largest floating platform in the Gulf of Mexico. The Appomattox development will initially produce from the Appomattox and Vicksburg fields, with average peak production estimated to reach 175,000 boe/d.

Appomattox’s semisubmersible four-column production platform will be moored in approximately 7200ft (2195m) of water using 16 mooring lines arranged in 4x4 clusters.

The platform and the Appomattox and Vicksburg fields are owned by Shell (79%) and Nexen Petroleum Offshore (21%), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC.
