Sirius gets Ororo ok

Nigeria-focused Sirius Petroleum received approval from the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Environment on its environmental impact assessment survey (EIA) on the Ororo Field Licence, OML 95, which covers the drilling of three wells and the installation of wellhead platforms.

The Ororo Field lies in the shallow waters offshore Ondo State in water depths ranging between 23-27ft. The field is adjacent to Mina, West Isan, Ewan, Eko and Parabe fields - all of which are operated by Chevron.It has an estimated 35.5-44.1 MMbbl in place, and 277-390 Bcf.

Sirius, together with its partners, Guarantee Petroleum and Owena Oil & Gas submitted the EIA survey in April.
