Peter Bennett appointed Clough CEO

Peter Bennett has been appointed as chief executive officer (CEO) of Australian diversified engineering firm Clough and the Murray & Roberts oil and gas business platform, with effect on 1 February 2016. Bennett will also join the Murray & Roberts board.  He succeeds Kevin Gallagher, who was appointed CEO of Santos in November 2015.

“[Bennett] is an experienced oil and gas executive and joins the group after 26 years with CB&I,” said Henry Laas, group chief executive, Murray & Roberts. “[Bennett] will play an important role in the pursuit of our strategic future defined as engineered excellence and our vision of being a leading international diversified project engineering, procurement and construction group by 2020.”

Most recently Bennett served as CB&I president, oil and gas international, based in The Hague, Netherlands. Prior to that he was senior vice president, oil and gas operations Australia and Asia Pacific, based in Perth, Australia.

Bennett has more than 20 years of business leadership experience in the international oil and gas, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) markets covering general management, operations, project management, business development and mergers and acquisitions. Bennett has working experience in Australia, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America, which represent Clough’s strategic growth sectors.
