Ocean Star to mark 20 years of ocean energy history

Houston's Offshore Energy Center is hosting an open house to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum on Wednesday, 26 April.

Admission at the Ocean Star, in Galveston, is free for the day. The Offshore Energy Center is committed to educating the public about the offshore energy industry through educational outreach programs, chronicling offshore history, and operating the Ocean Star.

Located on Pier 19 at 20th Street at Harborside Drive in Galveston, the Ocean Star is a retired jackup drilling rig refurbished as a museum about offshore energy. The museum is open daily, except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
