SeaPlanner has been selected to support the operations and maintenance phase of the Formosa 1 offshore wind farm in Taiwan.

The SeaRoc Group’s marine management system unit said that under the 10-year contract, SeaPlanner will be deployed by the O&M team to coordinate all personnel and marine logistics for the 128MW wind farm, located near Miaoli, in the west coast of Taiwan.

SeaPlanner provides an integrated solution for managing safety and efficiency on the project, including inductions, personnel certification management, vessel and personnel tracking, all viewable from an interactive map of the project site.

Formosa 1 offshore wind farm is a joint venture of Ørsted (35%), JERA (32.5%), Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (25%) and Swancor Holding (7.5%). It is the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in Taiwan with a total installation capacity of 128MW, which can supply clean wind energy to 128,000 Taiwanese households per year.

Commenting on the contract, Managing Director of SeaPlanner, Steve Pears said: “SeaPlanner is currently employed on a significant percentage of the world’s offshore wind turbines, including Formosa 1 and we are pleased to extend our support on this milestone project.”
