A 11,700mt jackup platform was transported aboard module carrier BigLift Barentsz from Flushing, The Netherlands to its destination west of Africa. The October journey was completed within three weeks.
Design and engineering, procurement and construction for the transport were completed by BigLift's in-house project team within a three week period from when the contract was signed to the star of loading operations. Both loading and discharge operations were performed within the course of a single day.
The jackup platform Exomna has an overall breadth of 75 meters and its legs are 133 meters high and was previously known as Energy Enhancer before it was sold by Northern Offshore alongside Energy Endeavour in early January 2018. The 1982-built pair were previously cold stacked in Rotterdam following completion of drilling contracts in the Southern North Sea.
Northern Offshore also entered into management services agreements with the new owner to provide crews and operational support to reactivate and convert both jackups to platform support units.
