New from Jotun are two new high performance coatings developed specifically for the the offshore industry and conforming with ISO20340 and Norsok M501 standards.

Barrier Plus, a two-component zincrich epoxy primer, is said to provide optimal cathodic corrosion protection of offshore structures’ steel substrates in atmospheric conditions. Combining new and previous inorganic zinc primer properties, it is easy to apply to superstructures above the water line.

Penguard Pro, which can be applied in both atmospheric and submerged conditions in a single coating as a primer or mid-coat solution, offers a wide dry film thickness range between 100m and 500m and can be applied in temperatures as low as –5°C and as high as +40°C.

Jotun also confirmed recently that its Marathon glass flake reinforced epoxy coating has been approved to Norsok M501 Edition 6 standard for submerged steel structures to withstand temperatures up to 150°C.
