String of contracts for KCA Deutag

Monday, May 27, 2013

Drilling and engineering contractor KCA Deutag has picked up three drilling operation and maintenance contracts for work in the North Sea with operators Total E&P UK, EnQuest and CNR International (CNRI).

The contracts with Total E&P UK are for drilling operations and maintenance services on the Alwyn North and Dunbar platforms for a two year period, with options to extend the contract for up to two years.

The contract with EnQuest is a four year extension of its drilling operations and maintenance contract for both the Heather and Thistle platforms.

CNRI has agreed a five year extension to drilling and completion services contracts for the Ninian North platform, South and Central platforms, the Murchison platform and the Tiffany platform in the North Sea.

Rune Lorentzen, KCA Deutag’s president for platforms, said: “We have a very strong presence in the North Sea and it is great to see this continue.  These new awards and contract extensions provide a great example of the on-going investment in the UK Continental Shelf and confirm KCA Deutag’s position as a leading platform services drilling contractor in the North Sea. These awards have highlighted our proven track record for safely delivering drilling operations in one of the harshest offshore environments.

“We are pleased to have been awarded these contracts as they will strengthen our commitment to the North Sea and provide the opportunity to continue developing existing relationships with our premier clients over the coming years.”
