Dutch international coating contractor Venko, which specialises in fabric maintenance, has set up its first UK base in the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft (New Anglia) Enterprise Zone.

The company was attracted by the incentives offered by the zone set up by New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) with partners.

Having secured a major five-year contract, Venko is set to create up to 100 jobs in the area.

Enterprise Zones are areas around the country that support both new and expanding businesses.   Benefits offered to energy-related businesses by the LEP include business rates relief, simplified planning processes and superfast broadband.

Venko Offshore provides a full range of services to the oil and gas industry, including project management, technical support, surface preparation, access solutions, insulation, fire protection, composite wraps and repair technology.

Following a competitive tender process, Venko Offshore was awarded a major five-year contract in 2012 by ONEgas (a joint venture of Shell / NAM) to deliver fabric maintenance activities on 35 of their installations.
