ALS Oil & Gas, the new international oilfield services company, formed through the acquisition of Reservoir Group by ALS Ltd. in 2013, has acquired the North American completions services provider, BMP Enterprises LLC (BMP).

The acquisition of BMP further enhances ALS’ ability to service the upstream oil and gas industry with leading technical services across all major geographies.

BMP specializes in turnkey monitoring solutions for the downhole oil and gas, downstream, industrial and pipeline monitoring markets. BMP’s team has market-leading knowledge in design, planning and installation of monitoring solutions using memory tools, permanent tools and fiber optic based acoustic and temperature monitoring. The acquisition of this leading service capability adds to ALS Oil & Gas’ Specialist Well Monitoring division’s technical and product expertise.  With this combination, ALS Oil & Gas now has a powerful monitoring capability to present end to end solutions to clients and to continue its focus on evolving new and improved monitoring solutions. The transaction also provides access to new areas of industrial and pipeline markets for ALS Oil & Gas.

Omega Well Monitoring, the brand under which BMP’s services will now trade, has a strong customer base in Canada, Europe, Africa, China, Australia and the Middle East. BMP’s presence and expertise in the U.S. market complements existing ALS Oil & Gas presence in the U.S. and the combination of the two companies will provide an improved coverage of this important market.  It is expected that BMP will contribute about US$10 million in revenue to ALS in the next year.

ALS Oil & Gas MD, Pascal Bartette, said, “We welcome all of BMP’s employees to ALS Oil & Gas. Their expertise augments the existing services we offer through Omega Well Monitoring.”

“With increasingly complex well completions, understanding downhole conditions is critical to maximising value from the reservoir. The addition of BMP’s U.S. base and experience to Omega’s international network and advanced monitoring solutions offers tremendous opportunities to our customers in our traditional downhole market as well as exciting new markets in industrial and pipeline monitoring where there is significant potential.”
