EMAS AMC have awarded welding specialist Serimax a long-term frame agreement to provide comprehensive welding services for their global spool base operations.

EMAS AMC said the global frame agreement will further strengthen its overall capability to execute rigid pipeline projects throughout the world.

EMAS AMC currently operates an established spool base in the Gulf of Mexico, while a second newbuild spool base is under construction in Norway.

The scope of work covered in the frame agreement includes spool base fabrication services, including specialist welding and pipe inspection services for EMAS AMC reel lay activity.

Frederic Castrec, Managing Director of Serimax, said: “EMAS AMC is a dynamic company who have, in a relatively short time secured a healthy backlog of work in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. I am confident that our two companies will grow together and jointly develop strong synergies to deliver the important projects ahead of us.”

C.J. D’Cort, CEO-EMAS AMC, added: “We are delighted to commit to a long standing relationship with Serimax.

With more complex projects being developed worldwide, we consider Serimax as an ideal partner for us, bringing

with them the experience, advanced technology and reliability required to deliver successful projects to our clients.”

Serimax, a Vallourec company, is currently supporting EMAS AMC on several ongoing projects at their US spool base and fabrication facility located on the Intercoastal Waterway in Ingleside, Texas.

Serimax was created following the February 2006 merger of Serimer—a provider of automatic welding services for offshore and onshore pipelines—and Umax, a spoolbase management services firm for the prefabrication of offshore pipelines. Serimax has the teams and equipment required to offer a full range of welding services worldwide.
