Tercel Oilfield Products introduced its patented MicroCORE cutting system, developed in collaboration with Total. The launch took place at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition (SPE ATCE) from October 27-29 2014 in Amsterdam.

The MicroCORE cutting system is a PDC drill bit design that redistributes high energy consumption from the center of the drill bit to other areas of the cutting structure.  The system replaces the compression failure mechanism in the center of a traditional cutting structure.
