T5 sets sights on ME and Africa

A new oil and gas exploration firm founded by former Tullow Oil board members has its sights set on Middle Eastern and African promise.

T5 Oil & Gas Limited (T5) was set up to identify and acquire prospective oil and gas assets in Africa and the Middle East.

Its management team include former Tullow Oil chairman Pat Plunkett, Tullow’s former senior international exploration manager, Matthew O’Donoghue, a former Tullow director, and former Tullow Africa managing director Andrew Windham. 

The firm’s latest appointment was chief operations officer Philip Crookall. Crookall has over 26 years of International experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily gained in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. 

Most recently he provided the technical lead to a privately financed team looking at West African projects focussing on Nigeria. Previous to this he was Technical Director of Valiant Petroleum, where he was involved in taking the company from private start-up to becoming a US$450 million UK-listed production company.

Crookall holds an MSc in Sedimentology from the University of London and a BSc (honors) in Geology from College of St Paul & St. Mary.

Plunkett was chairman of Tullow Oil from 2000 to 2011. Plunkett is an accountant with over 30 years' experience in the financial services sector.
