Wood Group Kenny (WGK) has secured a contract with Woodside to provide the front end engineering design (FEED) of the flowline system, and associated procurement support, for the proposed Greater Western Flank Phase 2 (GWF-2) development for the North West Shelf (NWS) Project, offshore Western Australia.

The work scope includes engineering and procurement support services for the 16in. GWF-2 corrosion resistant alloy rigid flowline system, flowline end termination structures, inline tee assembly structures, mid connection structure and subsea tie-in spools.

The primary engineering focus of the GWF-2 flowline FEED is to develop the flowline system for the final investment decision planned for the second half of 2015.

This contract follows the successful completion of the preliminary engineering for GWF-2 rigid flowline basis of design phase.

Mark Linton, regional director for Wood Group Kenny Australia said: “The award of the GWF-2 FEED contract continues the relationship that Wood Group Kenny has built with Woodside on previous projects including Pluto, Angel and the Trunkline System Expansion Project.

“Wood Group Kenny has extensive experience in the design of subsea tie-back flowline systems and has previously undertaken similar scopes of work for Woodside and other clients. Our involvement in the basis of design phase and invitation to tender support activities of the project provided an in-depth understanding of the challenges and key elements of the GWF-2 development.”

The GWF-2 development represents the next phase of gas supply to the existing NWS Project infrastructure after the Persephone Project. GWF-2 will develop the hydrocarbon resources of the Keast, Dockrell, Sculptor, Rankin, Lady Nora and Pemberton fields.

Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) also recently secured a contract with Woodside to provide the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services on the Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension Program, as well as providing modification and refurbishment services to Woodside’s Production Project’s Group across all their onshore and offshore assets.
