The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) of the Dominican Republic will implement a high-resolution 2D offshore seismic campaign as part of its efforts to determine the hydrocarbon potential of sedimentary basins from the country.
The call applies to both the San Pedro de Macorís and Ocoa Bay platforms, as well as to the exclusive economic zone and the territorial waters of the Dominican Republic in general.
Those interested will carry out the seismic campaign at their cost and according to a previously approved seismic acquisition map. Once the studies have been completed, companies must submit all seismic and geophysical information and data collected to the Dominican State, with a period of exclusivity for the commercialization of the seismic and sharing the commissions of the sale to third parties with the State itself, says MEM.
Companies interested in participating must have conducted seismic campaigns in 2D, 3D or 4D at sea in at least three countries in the last five years. In addition, MEM says that stakeholders must have released at least 5000km of 2D seismic in the last seven years or at least 5000sq km of 3D or 4D seismic in the same period.
