Norwegian oilfield services company Beerenberg has won a hook-up contract with Aker Solutions worth US$23.4 million (NOK 200 million) plus options for two installations on the Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea.
Beerenberg’s scope of work will include scaffolding, rope access, surface treatment, passive fire protection, insulation, and other related services.
According to the company, the engineering and planning work would begin shortly in Stavanger. The offshore hook-up phase is scheduled to be implemented in 2018 and 2019.
“We are very pleased that Aker Solutions has chosen Beerenberg as a partner for this project,” said Morten Walde, CEO, Beerenberg. “This is a very exciting and challenging project, and can potentially involve all Beerenberg services.”
In January, contracts for the hook-up and commissioning work on Johan Sverdrup were awarded by operator Statoil. The contract given to Aker Solutions includes an option for setting up and commissioning of the processing platform and living quarters platform in 2019. Beerenberg’s work on Johan Sverdrup is part of that deal.
