Aminex has increased gas production from the Kiliwani North-1 well, offshore Tanzania.

The well, drilled on the Kwiliwani North field from Songo Songo Island island, was brought on stream in April. It reached 30 MMcf/d boe at the weekend and the commissioning process at the Songo Songo Island gas plant, from which a pipeline will carry the produced gas to the mainland, is expected to be concluded with the testing of the well due to determine optimal rates.

The field was discovered in 2008 and contains an estimated 28 Bcf contingent resources.
