United Kingdom Ambassador to Greece Ms. Katherine Smith visited Energean offshore drilling facilities at Prinos.

The Delegation of the British Embassy toured by boat the Prinos Oil Field Platforms and “Energean Force”, the Energean owned drilling rig, which is currently drilling an extended reach well into the Epsilon Oil Field. The Delegation circumnavigated the jack-up rig “GSP Jupiter”, which is currently drilling the first of the three vertical development wells in the Epsilon Oil Field.

After concluding her visit to Prinos, British Ambassador Katherine Smith stated: “I would like to thank Energean team for the opportunity of the visit; exciting and informative. London -based Energean’s operations in Greece contribute to energy sources diversification, a crucial part for energy sources security and through that a crucial element of the security and stability of the economies in the area.”

Mathios Rigas, Energean CEO, said: “It was a great honour for a London based, FTSE-250 Company to host British Ambassador Smith and her distinguished company at Greece’s sole hydrocarbon producing facilities, which are operated by Energean. Hydrocarbons have been produced in the Prinos Basin for 37 years, and we are really proud of our HSE record, our commitment to the local communities and the achievement of having the tourism and oil & gas industries working together."

"Energean has been investing in the region, becoming a key player in oil and gas developments in Greece and Israel. We would like to thank the British Government of its support to our investments, which has resulted in strengthening the ties between the United Kingdom and the Mediterranean countries Energean operates in,” he added.
