2H completes Moho Nord TTR installation

2H Offshore completed the installation of the first of 17 production top tension risers (TTRs) for Total E&P Congo’s Moho Nord field.

2H installed and tensioned up the first production TTR and performed pressure tests prior to the completion drilling phase through the TTR. The installation was conducted on the tension leg platform (TLP) in a water depth of approximately 800m.

The TLP has been designed to allow simultaneous operations between drilling, production, completion and coiled tubing intervention. The TTRs have been designed for 25 years of service life and can be fitted on any of the 27 well slots in the field. The first 17 are to be installed in the next four to five years. Total will then decide if future TTRs are to be added.

The installation took place in February 2017 and marks a major milestone on the project, says 2H.

The company started working on the project in 2011 on the conceptual study and initial engineering for Doris, then for Total on the detailed design, execution and delivery of one high pressure drilling riser and 17 TTRs.
