Drilling at Statoil's Statfjord

In this video, Statoil shows still drilling at its Statfjord area, offshore Norway.

Statfjord is one of the oldest producing fields on the Norwegian continental shelf, and the largest oil discovery in the North Sea.

The field will remain in production until 2025 and possibilities to further expand the lifetime are being looked into.

The field has been developed with the Statfjord A, B and C production platforms, which all have concrete gravity base structures incorporating storage cells.

Roughly 80,000 b/d are produced by the Statfjord Unit license group, which unites all the licenses and includes all three Statfjord platforms and satellite fields tied in to Statfjord C.

Roughly 4 MMcm of gas are exported daily by the Statfjord Unit.
