The Netherlands based offshore services provider Vryhof and its mooring business Deep Sea Mooring (DSM) on Tuesday announced the signing of a multi-year agreement with offshore drilling company Diamond Offshore.
Under the terms of the deal, DSM said it will provide a broad array of mooring and related equipment to several of Diamond’s rigs, as well as a range of engineering and rig services expertise.
Wolfgang Wandl, Group CEO at Vryhof, said, “Not only are we committing to a 10-year partnership agreement for the provision of mooring equipment to Diamond, but we will also be working closely together on the latest advanced mooring integrity management systems with regular meetings throughout the year.”
DSM said it will also work with the Houston-based offshore driller in developing its Mooring Integrity Management System (MIMS) in an effort to ensure the mooring integrity for Diamond’s mobile offshore drilling units. Diamond’s MIMS covers procurement standards, inspection and maintenance standards, certification requirements, risk exposure and protocols, design and assessment standards, and operational practices.
“In these challenging times, drilling contractors are looking to embrace engineering innovations that reduce non-productive time and risk, protect asset integrity, and ensure maximum efficiencies,” Wandl said. “We are confident that we will achieve this for – and with Diamond through this unique business model.”
