PECOM

OE Magazine’s parent company, AtComedia, closed the acquisition of the annual oil and gas event, PECOM (Petroleum Exhibition and Conference of Mexico) from International Exhibitions, Inc., the company said on March 19, 2013. The conference, based in Villahermosa, Mexico, is currently in its 19th year, and joins OE’s stable of four established oil and gas industry events.

“The addition of PECOM to our product portfolio makes terrific sense to our business," said Atcomedia President and COO Brion Palmer. “Our business has global focus and Mexico is poised to significantly increase its stature in the global oil and gas industry.”

Sandy Basler, vice president of events at AtComedia, agreed. “The recent change in political leadership, combined with plans for major governmental reforms, is opening up new opportunities across the oil and gas industry,” she said of AtComedia's decision to make the acquisition. “PECOM will be a vital information resource to the region by presenting the thought leaders, strategies, technologies, best practices, and solution providers capable of seeing this potential converted into reality.”

The acquisition comes just in time for the next installment of the conference. PECOM 2013 is scheduled for April 9-11, and offers local access to more than 30,000 PEMEX engineers, managers, and personnel.
