Gas find for Noble at Karish 1

Noble Energy has found "significant signs of gas" on the Karish 1 well 75km north west of Haifi in Israeli waters, according to partners on the project.

Delek Group said, according to information from Noble, 60ft of natural gas bearing sands were found after drilling reached a total depth of 4790 meters below sea level on Karish 1 in license area of Alon C/366 on May 15. 

Drilling is being carried out using the Ensco 5006.

The prospect  had previously been estimated to contain 2bcm of natural gas, or 56 billion cubic feet.

Delek Group and subsidiary partnerships, Delek Drilling and Avner Oil Exploration, are partners on Karish 1.
