HHI orders DRBM from Trelleborg

Trelleborg’s offshore operation has been awarded its first order for drill riser buoyancy modules (DRBM) and riser protection by engineering, procurement, construction and installation contractor, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Korea.

For Trelleborg, the business partnership with HHI is a significant milestone, as it now boasts contracts for DRBM with all four major contractors in the Korean market.

“This latest contract with HHI makes Trelleborg the only buoyancy supplier to have a business partnership with the four top contractors in Korea,” Mark Angus, president of Trelleborg’s offshore and construction in the US, said. “We believe that this achievement is down to our approach to innovation and long-standing engineering expertise. We’ve also implemented strategic changes to manufacturing operations locally and have placed a representative in the area, as part of an ongoing commitment to better serving our global customer base through local presence.”
