Global Tubing earns API monogram licensing for CT

Global Tubing, a Texas-based, worldwide provider of coiled tubing products for the oil and gas industry, has achieved API Monogram licensing for its entire line of coiled tubing products.

The API Monogram is a warranty to purchasers that the marked product complies in every aspect with the API product specification in effect at the time of manufacture. Global Tubing also received API Specification Q1 and ISO 9001:2008 Certificates of Registration for its quality management system.

“It is gratifying to be licensed and certified for our continued conformance to the strict manufacturing and quality standards set forth by API,” stated Neal Lux, General Manager Global Tubing. “Product quality and technical innovation have been key to our worldwide success since we formed the company in 2007.”

The API Spec 5ST monogram license covers the manufacturing of all carbon and low-alloy steel coiled tubing grades, including material requirements, process of manufacture, dimensional requirements, inspection, testing, marking, and document control.

“Many of the requirements for the API spec are covered in our continuous milling process,” explained Lux. “It features a variable frequency seam welder, in-line inspection and tubing size control technologies. Our state-of-the-art process improves productivity, production repeatability and personnel safety.”

All Global Tubing products are designed, manufactured and tested to meet the quality requirements of API Spec Q1. Additionally, Global Tubing’s quality management system is now certified to ISO 9001:2008 criteria.

Global Tubing is based in Dayton, Texas. Its majority shareholders are Forum Energy Technologies (FET) and Quantum Energy Partners. Both FET and Quantum are headquartered in Houston, Texas.
