Viking Supply Ships lays up two PSVs

Published

Due to a continued weak platform supply vessel (PSV) market, Viking Supply Ships has decided to lay up the PSV vessels Sol Viking and Freyja Viking with immediate effect.

Sol Viking and Freyja Viking are medium sized PSVs equipped for operations in harsh environment offshore regions such as the North Sea. Built in 2006 and 2007, respectively, the DP II classed vessels are of VS 470 MK ll design.

They are expected to be free on 16 March 2016.

The decision will reduce the company’s operational costs going forward and will give a positive impact on the results from Q2 2016.
