Russia’s Lukoil has been granted approval from the Russian Federation Government for hydrocarbon exploration and production in two Baltic Sea fields.

Lukoil will explore the D29 and D41 oil fields, which were both discovered in 2015, using the Arktichesksaya jackup drilling rig. D29 is estimated to have recoverable resources of 2.126 million tonne, and D41 is estimated to hold 2.003 million tonne.
