Shell, through its subsidiary Shell Brasil Petroleo, extended its contract with MODEC for operations and maintenance of the FPSO Fluminense, effective from August 2016 to December 2020.

The FPSO has been operating in the Bijupirá and Salema oil fields in the Campos basin off the coast of Brazil since August 2003.

Moored in water depths of approximately 740m, the FPSO is capable of processing 81,000 bbl and 75 MMcf/d of gas, and has a storage capacity of 1.3 MMbo.

MODEC has also been responsible for operations and maintenance of the FPSO based on the initial contract for 13 years, from August 2003 to August 2016.
