BP has brought the Bruce, Keith and Rhum fields back on production following the successful repair of the Forties Pipeline System, Serica Energy reported on 12 January.
Production from the fields was shut-in on 11 December, along with other fields using the system, and have been brought back online as part of a phased restart of the Forties Pipeline System.
In November last year, Serica agreed to acquire interests in Bruce, Keith and Rhum from BP, including three bridge-linked platforms and subsea infrastructure in the North Sea. In the first half of 2017, the three fields produced 18,500 boe/d; as of January 2017, the fields were estimated to hold 50 MMboe of reserves.
Under the agreement, Serica will become operator of the three fields, and an estimated 110 BP staff members will transfer to Serica.
Expected to close in mid-2018, the deal will increase Serica’s net production some sevenfold, to over 21,000 boe/d, 85% of which is gas.
