Shearwater GeoServices said it has been awarded a contract for combined 3D and 2D seismic survey in Southeast Asia for the SW Vespucci Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV).

The contract covers an area of 1,600 square kilometers for 3D seismic with associated 2D work to be executed over a 1.5-month period from end of the third quarter of 2019 for the undisclosed client.

The SW Vespucci is a flexible seismic vessel able to conduct source, 2D, 3D and ocean bottom nodal seismic acquisition, thereby maximizing vessel utilization and minimizing transit times.

“The MPV platform is ideally suited for clients with diverse project requirements,” said Irene Waage Basili, the CEO of Shearwater GeoServices.

“It has allowed us to build a unique position in Southeast Asia and the award to SW Vespucci is a further confirmation of the strong value we offer to clients in the region,” Basili added.
