Seabed Geosolutions Wins GoM Survey

Wednesday, March 27, 2019

Marine seismic surveyor Seabed Geosolutions announced Wednesday it has been awarded a 3D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey in an ultra-deepwater area of the Gulf of Mexico by an unnamed major energy company.

Covering 270 square kilometers and in water depths up to 2,100 meters, the survey will commence in the third quarter of 2019 and take approximately four months to complete, said Seabed Geosolutions, a joint venture between Fugro and CGG.

It will be executed with ocean bottom nodes deployed by remotely operated vehicles and simultaneous source acquisition, with an imaging target that lies beneath a challenging overburden, including complex, overhanging salt bodies.
