Christophe Barnini has been appointed as Senior Vice President, group communications for CGG. Barnini will report to Jean-Georges Malcor, CEO of CGG, and has become a permanent member of CGG’s management committee.
This appointment took effect on 15th May 2013.
As former Investor Relations Director, Christophe will lead the group communication department and supervise the investor relations department. In this position, he is responsible for driving the group’s communications strategy worldwide, including business communications, internal and external communications and corporate branding, as well as financial communications.
Barnini is a graduate of the INSEEC Bordeaux Business School and has a Master’s degree in Industrial Organization and Logistics from the ESSEC Business School.
He began his career by joining Bull as financial controller in 1983, and has held various key positions until 1991, when he became Vice President in the Industry Division at IBM Consulting Group.
He joined CGG in 1996 as group financial controller in charge of listing CGG on the NYSE. He was North and Latin America finance vice president from 1998 to 2001 and then group corporate marketing manager until 2007.
During his career, Christophe has successfully developed and executed communications strategies for global positioning, executive thought leadership and mergers and acquisitions, among other corporate issues. While at CGG, he managed communications for the merger between CGG and Veritas, a multi-billion dollar transaction, and more recently the acquisition of the Fugro Geoscience division.
