Rosneft to start Okhotsk seismic

Rosneft has announced it has started seismic acquisition activity in the Sea of Okhotsk license blocks Lisyansky, Kashevarovsky and Magadan-1.

The Russian firm said 2D seismic and gravity magnetic survey, from the Academik Fersman vessel, are planned for the blocks, which it operates in partners with Statoil.

The program will cover 10,000km: 5300 km on the Lisyansky licensed block, 2000 km on the Kashevarovsky block and 2700 km on Magadan-1.

Environmental and fishery research will also be carried out by Environmental Company of Sakhalin. The Khmitevskaya-2 wellsubsea wellhead drilled in Magadan-1 will also be studied for environmental affects.
