Fugro and COSL sign JV extension

On 23 August 2013, when the recently signed ten-year extension comes into effect, Fugro will enter the fourth decade of the successful joint venture with China Oilfield Services Ltd (COSL). The joint venture, named China Offshore Fugro Geosolutions (COFG) in which Fugro holds 50%, has been operating successfully offshore China since 1983.

Services provided include precise navigation services, subsea positioning, construction support services and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services. The joint venture currently has a staff of over 200 and operates 13 ROVs and various advanced positioning systems for drill support, IRM (inspection, repair and maintenance) and construction support services. COFG operates from offices in Sheikou and Tianjin.
