Prysmian wins Petrobras umbilicals job

Petrobras awarded Prysmian Group a contract worth approximately US$260 million for umbilicals.

The award is related to a previous frame agreement covering 360km of umbilicals, most of it to be used in pre-salt fields. The contract comes with s 50% minimum purchasing commitment and call-off orders to be placed within a two-year period.

Prysmian Group also won an extension to 2016 on its existing frame agreement for flexible pipes, worth a total of $95 million. Of which, $20 million has already been ordered for the Macabu, Jubarte, and Marlim Leste fields.

The umbilicals and the flexible pipes will be manufactured at Prysmian's Vila Velha, Brazil, SURF plant, located on the Vitoria channel in Espirito Santo state.
