Drill rig manufacturer Integrated Drilling Equipment (IDE) has acquired drilling control and automation specialist S&P Drives Automation Controls and rebranded it International Electric Company Automation & Controls. IDE chief executive Steve Cope said the move would enable his company to ‘position itself in the forefront of rig automation’. S&P DAC was founded in 2008 by Charles Piper and Matt Shaw.
