Exploration drilling has restarted on the Tvillingen South prospect in production license 510 in the Norwegian Sea.
Operator Maersk Oil initially started drilling on the well in January this year, using the Leiv Eiriksson semisubmersible drilling rig, but, the well was plugged and abandoned in February after difficulties in a liner setting covering the intermediate part of the well.
The prospect is on the Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea, about 28km southeast of the Kristin field, in PL510. The well, 6406/6-4-S, will again be drilled using the Leiv Eiriksson, which in the interim had drilled Total's well Skirne in PL627.
Partners in PL510 are Maersk Oil Norway (operator with 50%), Edison Norge AS (30%) and North Energy (20%).
