Offshore Wind Consultants, part of Oslo-listed Aqualis ASA, has opened a new office in Hamburg, Germany.

The new Hamburg office will be used as the operating base for the company’s growing client and project work based in the region, and will also provide a base for other Aqualis Group services in this sector.

Offshore Wind Consultants is a globally focused consultancy providing independent services to the offshore renewables industry, acquired by Aqualis ASA in June 2014.

Offshore Wind Consultants’ newly established German company will trade under the name of OWC (AQUALIS) GmbH.

In 2014, renewable energy constituted 25.8% of the total electricity production in Germany, thereby becoming the country’s biggest energy source for the first time, according to the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft - BDEW).
